Accessibility statement

Last updated 23 August 2026

16255281 Canada Inc. wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people who navigate by keyboard, use a screen reader, magnify the page, or need motion reduced. This statement says what we have done, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.

The standard we work to

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA — the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the W3C, and the standard referenced by accessibility law in Canada, the United Kingdom and the European Union.

We consider this site substantially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. “Substantially” is doing honest work in that sentence: it means we have tested against the criteria and believe we meet them, not that an independent auditor has certified it.

What we have done

  • Contrast. Every text and background pairing on the site has been calculated rather than eyeballed. Body text sits at roughly 7.6:1 against the page. The smallest text — labels, captions, breadcrumbs — was darkened specifically to clear 4.5:1, and our red is used in two shades so that small red text meets contrast while large display type keeps its colour.
  • Keyboard. Everything interactive can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, in a logical order. Focus is always visible as a solid outline, never removed. A “skip to content” link is the first thing the keyboard reaches on every page.
  • Motion. The scrolling banner on the home page has a visible pause button, and it stops automatically for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion. All other animation is disabled under the same setting.
  • Structure. Pages use real landmarks — header, navigation, main, footer — and headings run in order without skipping levels, so a screen reader can be used to navigate rather than just to read.
  • Forms. Every field has a visible, permanently associated label rather than a placeholder pretending to be one. Hints are linked to their field. Errors are announced, and focus moves to the message so it is never missed. Nothing is time-limited and nothing blocks pasting.
  • Targets and zoom. Standalone controls and links meet the 24 pixel minimum target size. Links inside a sentence rely on the inline exception in the guideline, since enlarging them would break the surrounding text. The page reflows to 320 pixels wide and to 200% zoom without loss of content or horizontal scrolling.
  • Meaning without colour. Links in body text are underlined, not signalled by colour alone, and no instruction on the site depends on recognising a colour or a shape.
  • Language and titles. The page language is declared, and every page has a unique, descriptive title.

Known limitations

We would rather list these than let you find them:

  • The site has not been audited by an independent accessibility specialist, and it has not been tested with every combination of assistive technology and browser. Our testing has been technical and manual, not laboratory.
  • Some display headings are set in heavy uppercase type. This is legible and passes contrast, but uppercase is harder for some readers, particularly people with dyslexia. It is a deliberate design choice we have accepted, and all body copy is sentence case.
  • Content on third-party sites we link to — including app store listings — is outside our control, and we cannot make claims about its accessibility.

Tell us when it fails

If any part of this site stops you doing what you came to do, email info@16255281canadainc.com with the page address and what happened. Tell us what you were using if you can — it makes the fix faster.

We aim to reply within five business days, and to fix anything that blocks a task as a priority. If you need something on this site in a different format, ask and we will send it to you directly.

The legal position

We publish this voluntarily. As a small organisation we are not currently required to file an accessibility report under Ontario’s Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, but we build to the WCAG standard that Act references, and we would rather meet it before we are obliged to. We also serve customers in the United Kingdom and the European Union, and have written this statement with the European Accessibility Act in mind.

This statement applies to this website. It does not cover our software products, which publish their own accessibility information where required.

How we tested

Contrast ratios were calculated from the actual colour tokens in the stylesheet. Keyboard navigation, focus order, heading structure, form labelling and reflow were checked manually in a desktop browser at multiple viewport widths, and the reduced-motion behaviour was verified against the system preference. We re-check when we ship changes.
